As a wife and mother, I wanted to get back to the basics and be more self sufficient all while teaching my boys this way of life and nourishing their bodies and minds. I grew up in a tiny town in Montana, where for most of my formative years, we grew a garden for a majority of our vegetables, kept fruit trees, hunted for game, raised chickens, ducks and turkeys for both eggs and meat, goats for milk, canned food, and more. Yes, I grew up without a microwave, and had chores. I even got spanked!

With society focusing less on teaching people to be able to support themselves and more on depending on others, I think it is of utmost importance to learn more about supporting ourselves, DOING rather than waiting or depending on others, as well as being healthy in a natural way! I want to share with YOU my family’s journey, our successes, and failures, tips and more! I hope you will visit often, and that we can grow and learn together!

I will be also be sharing things such as recipes, product reviews, and more! So make sure to follow Homestead On The Range and make sure you don’t miss a thing!
